Creattica.com is a great site where the design community can look forward to submitting great designs as well as view other designs for inspiration.  Over 3,000 designs are featured on the site and you vote on designs if you like them.  Only the best work is featured in their gallery which appears to be monitored by an actual graphic artist(s).  The logos featured are all very creative while keeping the simplicity.  Be sure to check the site out!

1800 Tequila has a wonderful new project going on right now, they’ve commissioned 1800 artists of all styles and have come up with an artist series that displays art in a not-so-typical medium. Also if you sign up  at their website you can upload your own artwork or photos and have people vote on them.

Have you always wanted to be a graphic designer, or looked at something and thought “I could have made that.” Well PSDTUTS is offering 50 100% free lessons in graphic design, the topics cover a wide range indepth including Typography and Color Theory. Be sure to check it out, you’ll definately learn something.

What the Font!?

Have you ever wondered what a font was, you have a trillion fonts on your computer and none seem to match what you’re looking at. For designers a lot of fonts are easy to recognize just by looking at them for a few seconds, but sometimes we all have those moments when you just can’t figure it out.  Luckily MyFonts.com has a feature called What the Font! which allows you to  upload an image or provide a url and it will give you the font that was used. It’s really neat just to try even if you already know what font you have.

I Heart Blogging Contest

The people of WordPress have teamed up with the skin company Infectious to come up with an exciting new contest which calls on all designers to design a new skin for the iPhone and laptop which signifies the love of blogging. Rob Gonsalves

Rob Gonsalves is a modern Canadian painter who creates “Magic Realism.” His paintings seem to be hevily inspire by MC Escher and Salvador Dali. Gonsalves currently has a portfolio of 64 paintings. Check out some of his work here.

I just came acorss a  website for Doodle. Doodle is a graphic and industrial design studio out of Milan, Italy. Their work is clean, modern and inspiring, their site deserves to be checked out.

Pepsi Redesigned Their Logo

Pepsi recently redesigned their logo to a more sleek and modern look.  The new logo is a bit of a departure from their classic logo that many of us grew up with, I think it may take some time to get used to, and hopefully they don’t change their brand again before we get used to this one.

In Mexico a popular holiday is the Day of the Dead, where the dead are honored. In many ways it’s a very creative holiday, as people paint their faces to look like skeletons and make the cut-paper banners. The designs are often elaborate and depict skeletons doing everyday activities. BibliOdyssey has a large collection of the paper artwork.
