Sports Logos

Chris Creamer has an excellent site dedicated to sports logos, there’s over 10,000 logos available on the site and included are all major American sports associations. The logos are not only current and team logos but also college and event logos such as the Rose Bowl. Be sure to check out his site.

Photoshop Evolution

Photoshop was started 20 years ago, above is the evolution of the tool box. It hasn’t evolved a whole lot, but I was a little surprised when I first used PS4, as all the tools are in one row.

Microsoft needs Macintosh

The new “I’m a PC” campaign has been invading our lives for the past couple weeks now, but when Microsoft hired Crispin Porter & Bogusky I don’t think they took into consideration what computers they would be using.  In the graphics world Macintosh is the industry standard, and the people at Crispin Porter & Bogusky are no different. I’m sure Mac users of the world were delighted to see that some of the ads created for the popular campaign were created on Macs. PC might have just lost the “cool” they were trying to steal away from Apple.

Saul Bass

Saul Bass (May 8, 1920-April 25, 1996) was a legendary graphic designer , he produced some of the most recognizable logos ever, including a couple of AT&T logos as well as the Girl Scouts of America and United Airlines. He’s also created several opening movie sequences and movie posters. Check out his Wikipedia page for more information on Saul.

David Byrne might best be known for his role in the 80s band the Talking Heads, though he’s also teamed up with the New York City Department of Transportaiton to provide a little more excitement to bike racks.
